I am a ten-year qualified practitioner with a City firm background providing specialist company/commercial and intellectual property law services to a diverse range of businesses across England from my office in Sudbury, Suffolk.
Quality Service and Cost Savings
By investing in the best available documentation, know-how and training I ensure that the advice that I give and contracts that I draft are second to none. I save my clients money by embracing modern technology wherever possible and eliminating unnecessary overheads from my business. I work from home, outsource my secretarial work (via digital dictation), send emails not letters (unless necessary) and use online law libraries rather than books. These savings are passed on to my clients via a charge out rate that is at least a third less than rates offered by similarly qualified commercial solicitors.
Fixed Quotes
Where possible, you'll be given a fixed quote and time frame for the work to be undertaken at the outset. If this is not possible because scope of the work is dependant on the length of negotiations and/or the attitude of third parties and their advisors you will be given the best estimate that I can give. However, should I feel at any time that an estimate that I have given might no longer be appropriate I will contact you immediately. As well as transparent and regular billing you can relax knowing you won’t be charged for initial meetings or for routine telephone calls and that I am happy to be contacted day or night and even at weekends. I want my clients to feel like they have their very own in-house lawyer.
Extensive Network
Another benefit of instructing me is that you will gain access to the extensive network of solicitors working in different practice areas in different firms that I have built up since 1998. If your work is outside my areas of expertise, I will happily recommend the right lawyer to you and, if you like, negotiate fees and monitor the progress of your matter on your behalf. This can actually be far more effective than instructing a solicitor in a traditional multi-disciplinary firm where they are obliged to refer you to colleagues who may not be up to scratch.
Clients like being able to call me without worrying about the cost. They like the fact that I run a business and can identify with them. And they like my ethos that is to do a fair day’s work for a fair day’s pay. It’s a refreshing approach that I think you’ll like too.
